Project | Boutique Symposium

During the spring 2018 semester, I enrolled in a Adobe for Event Planners. During the semester, I was able to learn all about the Adobe products, effective presentations, and Sketchup designs. The class allowed me to use my business skills and creativity to make a beautiful portfolio of my very own designs.

My main project focused on planning and designing "The Boutique Symposium." You can find all the components I designed in the gallery to the left.

Project | 50th Anniversary Events

First Central State Bank celebrated 50 years in banking in 2017, so I was given the opportunity to coordinate a month long celebration for the occasion. Every Friday in  June each location hosted a different event for customers.

On Monday, June 12th our DeWitt location hosted a special presentation to highlight the success First Central State Bank has seen through the years. I coordinated the entire event, which was an amazing opportunity! The event was a "Throwback" to 1967 when the bank was chartered, so it involved themed giveaways, staff dressing in 1960's attire, and a historical display.

Project | Social Media Initiatives

Apart from piloting Snapchat filters, I had the opportunity to pilot Instagram, Linkedin, and new social media initiatives.

I created a consistent theme across all social media platforms, which involved strategy and thoughtfulness. Using design tools, I created attractive social media postings to promote our brand.

Project | Snapchat Filters

Although Snapchat filters have been around for a few years now, not many businesses have utilized them. This summer I had the opportunity to pitch, design, and implement Snapchat filters for community banks. The filters to the left were used at various events in eastern Iowa.

After implementing my first filter, I trained fellow marketing staff on Snapchat. The presentation included Snapchat's marketing strengths, ways to utilize filters, and how to set up business filters.

Project | Kicks for Kids

My siblings and I collected over 80 pairs of shoes through our summer shoe drive this past summer. We used Facebook, word of mouth, and the local newspaper to promote our drive within our community. The project involved coordinating donation boxes with local businesses, creating a collection schedule, and communicating with interested donors.

Project | Yoga on the Lawn

As a Strategic Initiatives Intern, I planned a Yoga on the Lawn event for the Iowa State Campus. We marketed the event using on-campus resources, social media, and word of mouth advertising. It was a great way to kick-off our year long sustainability celebration!

Project | Clinton County Fair Fashion Show

As a leader of the Fashion Show Committee for the Clinton County Fair, I coordinated participants, judges, and final judging day. This role involves communicating with 4-H exhibitors, coordinating with fair staff, and organizing the schedule of events. I enjoyed working with fellow 4-H Alum to produce a meaningful and educational event for our Clinton County 4-H exhibitors.
